Going Downhill

A short week of racing leaves Wendy and Shelley free to discuss more injuries and what they think FIS should do with venues. 

After a down pour of rain and results for the men, Wendy and Shelley discuss the injuries in Cortina. Why and how are they happening at such a rate? So many athletes are getting injured...is this unexpected? 

Wendy and Shelley agree about younger athletes on the tour. Should a 16 year old race World Cup? Then we get into the Strief where the results were a little all over the map but not compared to the DNFs in the slalom. 

Wendy and Shelley discuss and have opinions about Wengen, the horrific crashes, and the amount of races. Shelley hates being right in this case. The Women's races had some moments of excitement and they ladies disagree about the course. 

 

Wendy and a Shelley with a cold discuss a Canadian win by Val Grenier in Slovenia while mangling a few name and they both love the terrain in Adelboden, SUI. 

Wendy and Shelley explain why coaches should not sleep with their athletes and also go over some night slalom pre-xmas racing! Dave Ryding has some fans with our coaches for sure!

A long episode where there are a ton of races to catch up on. The men race 5 days in a row with mostly surprising results but also some unsurprising winners in Italy.  While the women face a technically challenging course and a super G with an almost 50% DNF rate that made things exciting. Wendy saves a story for the end about being saved by an Italian stranger and Shelley tries her best not to confuse results. 

Wendy and Shelley look at a the Men racing in Val D'Isere for a day and how the retirements affect the young guns that are pushing into the top 30. Meanwhile the Women race a relatively boring track in mediocre conditions in St. Moritz until it gets cancelled.

BONJOUR from Mt. Temblant! There they Wendy and Shelley discuss the men briefly not running and give their analysis with athlete interviews for the exciting races in Quebec! 

Shelley and a pantless Wendy analyze the races in Killington...Were there any big surprises? Not really. But the set differences between the SL runs made for interesting watching as Vlohva and Shiffrin battle it out (like always).
